What is a home inspection?

A home inspection is an objective, unbiased, visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a home. An inspector will check condition of the surrounding grounds, roof, structure, exterior surfaces, windows and doors, attic, basement and or crawlspace, interior rooms, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system. The process takes multiple hours and is then compiled into a detailed report that is delivered to the client.

Do I need to attend the inspection?

No, but it is recommended. A full report will be delivered to you after the conclusion of the inspection. This report will detail the findings during the inspection. We recommend tagging along the inspection in order to ask any questions if they arise or gain a fuller understanding to what is being detailed in the report.

Do you do appraisals?

An appraisal and a home inspection are two separate items. An appraisal is done by an appraiser. An appraisal is the process of developing an opinion of value, for real property. A home inspection is a visual, non-invasive examination of the condition of a home, often in connection with the sale of that home.

When and how I pay for the inspection?

Payment will be taken prior to the inspection. Check, cash, and credit cards are accepted. Pricing depends on multiple factors but an invoice will be provided. Cash or checks can be brought with you to the walk-through at the inspection.
